i wanted to update those who kept up with my story. our daughter kinley elisabeth was born 062510 at 9lb 1oz! she is beautiful and healthy. the delivery was tough due to her size but my kidney did great pulling me through the pregnancy. thank you for those who offered well wishes, advice and support. i am seeing a nephrologist for the first time middle of the month and i'm scared what she will have to say. my left kidney is so far so good and i'm hoping the dr will have advice what i can do to preserve it.

i have some questions regarding hormones/pregnancy/breastfeeding. i have read that estrogen causes aml growth. knock on wood, the aml in my left kidney did NOT grow during pregnancy which i understand causes a huge increase in estrogen. breastfeeding apparently lowers estrogen. i already asked my urologist and he advised i should be perfectly fine to nurse my daughter. i really want to nurse her for 1 year and since it *lowers* estrogen it should not affect my aml right?

Congratulations Crystal on the birth of Kinley Elisabeth. Well done! I'm so glad everything seemed to go so well. What a weight! I thought my son (17 now) was heavy at 8lb 11oz!
Hope the nephrologist has some positive news for you when you see him next.
Best Wishes

Emma

Hi Crystal

Congratulations on the birth of Kinley Elisabeth, so happy that everything went as well as it possibly could. Do hope that everything goes well with the Nephrologist and that Kinley gives you and your hubby lots of joy!

About the possibility of estrogen affecting/not affecting your aml's, can't help you there, I'm sure that your urologist must know, you can pop the question to your nephrologist when you see him just to be sure.

Bon courage!

Kind regards
Jacqui
